NSW: Patrols increased following reports of attempted abductions

Police have increased their presence around two schools in Sydney's north-west afterincidents involving schoolgirls.

They say two girls have been approached by men as they walked to schools in the Carlingfordarea last week.

Police say a 13-year-old student from Tara Anglican Girls School at North Parramattawas indecently assaulted last Wednesday.

Rosehill Local Area Superintendent DAVE HUDSON says a 14-year-old girl from CumberlandHigh School was approached the following day by men who tried to entice her into theircar.

He says both girls acted responsibly, immediately reporting the incidents to their schools.

Superintendent HUDSON says patrols have been increased in the area, and he understandsthe private school has engaged private security.
